It's considered one of the most difficult - and rewarding - books of the Bible.

The Book of Romans is as complex as it is inspiring, rewarding those who study it with blessed insight into how we are to live into the path of Jesus. Jay Sidebotham knows all about that. He's written a book on the subject, and invites the world to join him for a worldwide Bible Study.

In this 8-week class Jay will teach us about the author, origin, setting, and message of Romans. Classes meet live, via zoom, and will last an hour.

The course meets on Wednesday nights from 8pm - 9pm Eastern Standard Time. Dates include: Wednesday, January 9, 16, 23, 30, February 6, 13, 20, 27. Zoom sessions are recorded and available to registered students at other times, so you don't have to be present at every class.

This class runs alongside an initiative called The Good Book Club, which is aimed at encouraging people to read The Book of Romans during the season of Epiphany.

Do you have a small group of people that would like to take this course together? No problem. Two or more people, gathered in the same place at the same time can take this course together. Pedagogy and Learning Objectives
The Wednesday Night Bible Class is a new way to learn. Ideally, everyone should be able to learn about the Christian faith with great, in-person instructors and be surrounded with mentors and students who can enrich and enliven the learning experience. However, that is not the case. Too many of us learners experience less than stellar instruction and orientation to the Christian faith.

The Wednesday Night Bible Class seeks to improve that.

We understand that the most successful learning of this kind involves real relationship. However, we don't believe online learning is void of this. We believe sacred community can be created as well as inspired by the pedagogy The Wednesday Night Bible Study upholds.

This course works toward six learning outcomes. Students who successfully complete this course should: 1) Feel inspired yet challenged in their faith, 2) Feel encouraged to know Jesus better and His mission to reconcile the world to him, 3) Feel more confident in their knowledge of the Book of Romans, Jesus, the Bible, 4) Be able to converse more easily with others on this topic, 5) Be able to explain their beliefs and learnings from this class to others, 6) Make at least one nurturing relationship with a fellow student.

A typical class begins with a welcome from our leaders, a lecture, and questions answered as they occur or at break points in the lecture.- Our presenters are not simply knowledgeable in their field, but they possess an ability to communicate. Presentations are designed to be as interactive as possible, including questions and discussions.

Rigor
This course is designed to be comprehensive. Students can expect 6+ hours in class and some take home work, which may include a reflection paper and/or other assignment(s).

How much does the class cost?
Students must have an active ChurchNext membership, that means $9 per month. This class is held over 2 months so it's $18. Churches using the course for more than one student should have an active membership of $29/mo and can get a coupon code by contacting us at hello@churchnext.tv

What do I receive when I'm finished?
You will earn a Certificate of Completion upon request

What if I miss a class?
You can only miss one class in order to earn your certificate. Each instructor has different answers to this question, so ask them. Recordings of each zoom class will be made and available for later viewing for registered students.

What if I have to drop out?
We'll miss you but it happens.
